Good morning.
Sage did well through the night. This girl has unbelievable reserves of strength.
Her white blood cell has not come down. An ultrasound is being done right now to see if fluid levels in her abdomen have changed. We are having a surgical consultation and will of course let you know what is decided.
Today is a very very very big day. Please stay close. Sage is going to need every single one of us today.
We'll be here praying for you and sending you love and strength. Keeping you in our thoughts in California, Sandy, Alejandra, Issy and Richard
ReplyDeleteDear Sage,
ReplyDeletetoday, when I arrived to the lab, all my bacterial cell cultures were dead -lysed- for some reasons.
My first thought was "da*** I cant' do none of the experiments I've planned" and then I've smiled - Big smile for you Sage!! It's a sign, be strong!
we are with you
Love,
Julia
You're constantly on my mind. Thanks for keeping us updated. I pray that the doctors can find a way through this and move Sage a step closer to recovery. Sending you love and light, air and strength.

CONTEMPLATION (excerpt from "Journey to the Center," by Thomas Keating)
ReplyDeletePsalm 102:1-2
Hear my prayer, O Lord;
let my cry come to you.
Do not hide your face from me
in the day of my distress.
Incline your ear to me;
answer me speedily in the day when I call.
Contemplative prayer is the world in which God can do anything. To move into that realm is the greatest adventure. It is to be open to the Infinite and hence to infinite possibilities. Our private, self-made worlds come to an end; a new world appears within and around us and the impossible becomes an everyday experience. Yet the world that prayer reveals is barely noticeable in the ordinary course of events.
All true prayer is based on the conviction of the presence of the Spirit in us and of Spirit's unfailing and continual inspiration. Every prayer in this sense is prayer in the Spirit. Still, it seems more accurate to reserve the term “prayer in the Spirit” for that prayer in which the inspiration of the Spirit is given directly to our spirit without the intermediary of our own reflections or acts of will. In other words, the Spirit prays in us and we consent. The traditional term for this kind of prayer is "contemplation."

Dear Sage, Sophie, and all Sage Lovers out there,
I do not know you (in body, at least), but please count me among those who join you in contemplative prayer for Sage’s journey.
Poem by Rumi
Lovers know there are roses
in the bloody veil of love;
they live astounded
by Love's matchless beauty.
The intellect says,
"The six directions are blocked!"
Love says, "There's a way!"
Intellect sees a market
and starts to haggle;
Loves sees thousands of markets
beyond that market.
How many mystic martyrs
hidden in Love's soul
have abandoned the preacher's chair
to climb onto the scaffold!
Lovers who drink the wine’s dregs
reel from bliss to bliss;
dark-hearted skeptics
burn inwardly with denial.
Intellect says, "Stay where you are!"
Annihilation has only thorns!
Love laughs, "The thorns are in you!"
Keep silent, and tear Being's thorn
out of your heart;
discover in your own soul
rose garden after rose garden.
Your friend in Spirit,
C.
We're with you constantly, despite the 3000 miles.
