Day 13, 5:30 pm

Sage gets an A+ for today's work.
The new chest tube went in, a bunch of air came out, and that lung reinflated. We did another chest x-ray just to confirm, and sure enough that tube cleared the pneumothorax. Since then, she's even cooperated with our trying to wean her down a bit on the ventilator. So that's two big moves. Great stuff, Sagie! In other good news, we learned as well that yesterday, Monday, Sage put out more fluids than went in. All told, a good day. Many thanks to all.

    I'm sure the docs have already thought of this, but just in case...my physician brother-in-law says that gallbladder leaks can be the cause of cases like Sage's in rare instances.
