A quick update on Sage’s condition:
Sage is currently hospitalized with the presumed diagnosis of septic shock. She is on antibiotics as her team of excellent doctors and nurses search for the source of her infection. Sage remains comfortably sedated while on a respirator.
Her strength is evident as she holds on through everything that is happening.
Her mother, Sophie, is vigilantly at her beside around the clock, constantly funneling positive energy for her recovery and she is supported by a network of extended family of parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Dear Sophie and Sage and Nathan,
ReplyDeleteI just learned of Sage's illness through a friend at the Lexington Waldorf School. Nathan and my daughter Sophie were classmates there. Although our paths did not often cross, the image of Sage that arose in my mind was of a brilliant autumn day - Michaelmas- as she raced across the field, fiercely eluding dragons and overcoming the darkness. My memories of Nathan at this time (forgive me Nathan) are of him as a feisty and hilarious cross dressing figure from Norse mythology - this was 4th grade after all. And also of his gentle kindness to Nora, my younger daughter, the proverbial tag along little sister. I wish you all continued courage and ferocity on this difficult journey. Our thoughts and hearts are with you. Elizabeth
