Greetings from a quiet corner, before Friday begins and Thursday ends completely, and while the auspiciousness of this day is still fresh and miraculous.
Sage had a momentous day today, in that she walked around the unit! Gina, today's Physical Therapist, had Sage do some warm-up stretches and biking exercises, and then got 'team Sage' ready and available for the walk. Big smiles from everyone - Dr. Tilluckdharry, Sage's attending doctor from two weeks ago, was in the unit and did not recognize her! so smiles and surprises were rampant.
Sage did not get the 'shiley' downsized today, but was promised that it would be done tomorrow morning (Friday) at 9 a.m. She was disappointed at first, mostly because the number 8 is very uncomfortable for her, but in her inimitable style is being patient and positive. Sage will go to the operating room for this procedure, as her surgeons want to take appropriate precautions, given that she had some bleeding from the trach site last weekend. Another road trip....
Sage's respiratory rate (breaths per minute) is magnificent right now, breathing slowly and steadily in the high teens. She had a bath, a hair wash and a new braid this evening, thanks to Nurse Jen. She sleeps peacefully - and hot off the press, her white blood count is down to 10,400. Sweet!
Please send extra positive thoughts and good jou-jou northward this morning for the 9 a.m. scheduled time, and throughout the morning (operating room schedules can change), as we know you will continue to do. Many many many thanks for your ongoing love, support and presence.

Amazing! We lit a nice little candle for Sage health and good feelings at a monastery near Bergamo at the foot of the Italian Alps today, then read all this lovely news. Our thoughts continue to be with The Bug.
